The programme targets particularly children and youth acknowledging that this particular group is the most vulnerable in society. The programme’s goal is to create a conducive environment for children and young people to access quality education. This will result in:
- Increased access to inclusive Early Childhood Care and Development (ECCD) opportunities for young children
- Improved quality of Early Childhood Care and Development programs that protect and promote children’s cognitive, social, emotional, and physical development.
- Improved household and community capacity to support and promote Early Childhood Care and Development ECCD)
- Young people complete primary and secondary education
Activities include
• Capacity building to local leaders, caregivers and communities to fully participate in early Childhood Development interventions
• Provision of food to Care Centres, one meal per day Promoting girl education, awareness creation on importance of education, advocacy on early marriages and harmful cultural ractices
• YODEP ensure that every child attains and completes primary education, thorough a go back to school initiative to those children who dropout from school due to orphan hood and send them back to school.
• YODEP Provide school fees, and supplies to the needy children orphaned due to HIV/AIDS
• Conduct reflection meetings with parenting group facilitators
• Development of play and learning materials
• Support child driven general assembly
• Conduct Children leaders’ committee training
• Orient infant class teachers on school readiness intervention
